We been patiently waiting for this ice to end its grip on Panguitch Lake and finally we are seeing some open water!! The ice has opened up a very nice area in front of Blue Springs Creek and as you see in the following photos we are seeing about 3o feet of open water forming around the shoreline. Russell Latch claims he caught a 27″ Cut wading in the open water at Blue Springs, I did not see the monster but he does not usually tell fish stories. We are betting on the weather to cooperate and will reopen this Sat. (May 1st) for you big fish anglers so make plans on getting up here this weekend!!

Ice condition!
Apr 17
The ice is currently about 18″ thick but around the shoreline of the lake the ice is thin and will not support your weight in the afternoons. Be very careful as the ice on the shoreline will support you in the cool mornings but as the warm afternoon progresses the ice will become to thin and you will fall through. This happened yesterday with a fishermen in front of the resort. The good news is that ice off is progressing well and we should see it all gone very soon!
Ice Off update
Apr 9
The temps have risen in to the 50′s this weekend. It looks like things are finally going to start to melt!! Currently there is still between 24″ and 30″ ice on the lake with about 3′ of snow pack around the lake. Ice fishing is very good right now in fact it is better than it has been all winter but with this warm weather the ice will not last. We are closed this weekend but will open again the weekend of April 16th so come up and see us
